Lovely Little Weekend

What a super fun weekend!  Guy was actually HOME and wasn't overwhelmed with WORK, so we were able to do some fun things.  Here's a quick rundown:

Friday night we went over to the Renters for yummy snacks and drinks.  The Stoner's were there too and it's always a fun night to just hang out and talk.  We played "The Game of Things" which is a great game - especially when you try to pin all of the inappropriate answers onto Guy!

Saturday morning we hung out in our pj's and watched TV.  Have you seen Doomsday Preppers?  Gary and Guyla had told us about it and I'm kinda hooked.  It's crazy how all of the featured families have different views of how the world is going to collapse - everything from solar flares to toxic waste.  Guy and I haven't secured our "bug-out" location just yet, but perhaps we will get some ideas from the preppers.... ha!

That afternoon I went to a bridal shower for my friend Laura.  Her bridesmaids threw her the cutest shower.  Lots of good ideas from pinterest!

That evening we braved the rain and went to a ridiculously early dinner at Kozy Kafe (what used to be Weck's, then Jimmy's Egg).  The atmosphere needs a lot of help, but the food was actually really yummy. It's southern cooking, which we both love. Then we headed off to Grapevine Mills.  It was RIDICULOUSLY crowded.  Like Christmas crowded!  We were able to get Guy a ton of new clothes, which he really needed.

On Sunday we headed to downtown Dallas for a fun outing.  It turned into a gorgeous day.... after all of our rain, it was awesome to be outside.

We ate a yummy lunch at Jake's Hamburgers.  I had never been, but I highly recommend the fried pickles and veggie burger.  Delish.  Even Beckett was impressed.

Then we walked around the farmer's market.  We picked up a bunch of fresh veggies and fruit.

When we got home Guy grilled a turkey tenderloin and we had roasted potatoes and squash from the market.  Guy put B down while I snuck off for some Blue Goose margaritas.

So, yep... is was definitely a lovely little weekend for the Mayo's!
