The last 6 weeks have been a blur. A complete whirlwind of feeding my littles, cleaning their messes, and desperately trying to fit odd and end tasks in. I then reheat my coffee (for the 6th time) and repeat.
Having a January baby is both a blessing and a curse. The weather has been too cold to go outside, so Beckett and I have both been so very stir crazy. Poor kiddo hardly even got to play outside in the driveway. But Guy has been home and he is an enormous help with Beckett, making dinner, and running errands. Honestly, so far it's all been easier than I imagined although I struggle with worrying that I am not giving enough of my attention to Beckett.
Anyhow, here is a large picture dump from the first couple of weeks home.
As soon as we got home from the hospital, Beckett immediately wanted to hold his baby sister. He is completely in love.
First picture of our family at home.
Over the next few days we had several visitors, which was a lot of fun. It was nice to socialize and have the opportunity to introduce our sweet girl to friends and family.
Teags and Hadley were just like Beckett - so excited to hold her and amazed at how little she is. So very sweet!
Beckett asks at least 5-10 times a day about her. What she is doing, if he can hold her, asking to "pet" or kiss her. When it's quiet I usually find him sitting by her and holding her hand or "petting" her head.
I thought I would fall in love with newborn photography and spend hours doing nothing but take her picture. That actually couldn't be farther from the truth. Although I love having pictures of Reese, my passion and skills do not lie with newborns. Every once in a while I will do some traditional newborn style pictures, but I usually just prefer to take more lifestyle pictures.
I think this was my first attempt. I do not have the patience or desire to learn newborn posing. Ahh well, our little girl is beautiful and I am glad to have taken the ones I did.
And here's a couple "posey" ones.
Until her umbilical cord fell off (which was actually when she was a week and a half), she did sponge baths. Here is her very first one! She has yet to cry during bath time. (Mr. Beckett cried at EVERY bath until he was several months old.)
Her first doctor visit was discouraging. Unfortunately she had lost even more weight (despite my milk coming in and her nursing well). I believe she got down to 5 lbs 9 ounces, which is much less than what they would have liked. So I began the journey of supplementing with bottles. Boo :(.
Other than that, though, she looked perfect!
The first pic of me with both my babies. And they match :).
I adore these next two pictures. I will probably frame the one that includes Beckett.
And here's a whole bunch more from the first two weeks.
We are in pink heaven!
