Christmas Fun

Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday.  Not even Christmas Day, but all of the days leading up to it.  I love the anticipation, family oriented activities, and even the shopping.  This year Beckett was really able to understand Christmas.  We taught him about Santa, sang lots of carols (favorite is definitely Rudolph), looked at lights, watched the Polar Express and Frosty, and had fun with decorations and lights around the house.  He loved it was much as do.

We planned lots of Christmas activities throughout December.  One of Beckett's favorite things was riding the Polar Express in Grapevine.

He wore his Santa hat for approximately 2 minutes.  But he did do a pretty good "ho ho ho" impersonation of Santa.

Such a silly stinker.  He loved to look out the window of the train and say "choo choooooooo."

When we arrived at the "North Pole" we went through some foam snow.  Up until that point he hadn't experienced snow yet, so he thought it was pretty fun.  All in all the Polar Express was a huge success! Beckett talked about it all the time.

The following two pictures represent the extent of my Christmas photography.  Really, the Christmas Season + About to Have a Baby + the awful Colestasis of Pregnancy left me flat out exhausted and not much energy for any of my usual activities and hobbies.  But I was happy to have these photographs - one of my sweet boy and one of a nearby tree in a field that I have always wanted to photograph.

Speaking of trees - Beckett had a good time decorating our big tree and "his" little tree.  Somehow all of the ornaments that he put on ended up on one branch.  Pretty cute :).

We also got tickets to see "ICE!" at the Gaylord Hotel.  It was pretty impressive.  Beckett was very brave and went down the big ice slide.  He was scared at first but we were proud of him (and he was too!) when he braved it and slid down.

Another favorite tradition is going to our town's Christmas Parade.  It was FREEZING this year.  I think it actually worked out well though because it was so cold that the little ones stayed cuddled up under the blankets and hardly moved.  Win!

And finally - Beckett and I made it to Bass Pro.  We didn't see the Santa there this year, but he did have a good time on the Carousel and sitting on each and every one of their vast collection of 4 wheelers.

All in all it was a wonderful Christmas season.  Up next…. Christmas Day Fun!
