A couple of weekends ago Steph was in town so we decided to go all crazy and break out of our suburban bubble. We headed to the Ft Worth Stock Show. Because Steph is all about farm smells, rough cowboys, and country life....not :).
And while Beckett could appreciate some aspects of cowboy life (big machinery), he definitely was not a fan of all parts. He had a blast climbing on the tractors. "This, this, this, this, this."
But when it came to getting up close and personal with the cows and horses, he pretty much became an extra appendage to Guy or I. Poor kiddo - he was just a little overwhelmed at first, but he did get better by the end.
The highlight for the entire day was getting to sit in a real (pink) firetruck! He happily climbed right in and started saying "whoo whoo."
After sitting there awhile and making as much small talk with the firemen as possible, we asked B if he was ready to go. He firmly told us "no" over and over again. The boy was happy.
"NO!"
Next up we walked around - B was still pretty glued to us while around the animal stalls.
He really enjoyed watching the horse shows though. I'm pretty sure we could have stayed in the arena all day and he would have been a happy camper. We decided that we definitely need to find a local rodeo to attend.
It took us awhile of searching, but we finally headed in the right direction for the petting zoo.
The bunnies and chickens were a hit, but the goats that invaded personal space pretty much terrified him. I can't say that I blame him!
We walked around some more before finally deciding that Stockyard food just wasn't going to cut it for lunch. Joe T. Garcia's (outdoor patio, margaritas, and mexican...need I say more?) was calling our name.
It as a fun day!
Love all the pictures and posts!
