Dear Beckett: 29 and 30 Weeks

Dear Beckett,

Your first Christmas is just days away, and we have been doing all we can to enjoy the holiday season.  Our house is all decorated and you love to look at the lights and shiny decorations.  Of course, it gives me the perfect opportunity to take even more pictures of you!

I believe a new family tradition started when we all went to the Flower Mound Christmas Parade.  It was COLD, long, and loud.....but super fun too!  One day you may even get to be in the parade.

We also took you to Bass Pro Shop to meet Santa for yourself.  You sat on his lap (no tears), but was not interested in smiling.  I wonder what you asked Santa for?

Of course, going to see Santa at Bass Pro is fun, but nothing beats a special Santa visit in your own home!  Yep, Santa came just to see you and your friends.

This time of year is incredibly special.  It makes you think of all that you are thankful for - family and friends especially.  You have brought such joy to our lives!

Well, enough about Christmas approaching.... let's talk a little about you!

Everyone instantly says you look just like your dad (and I agree), but in these pictures I think you look a lot like I did as a baby.  What do you think?

Baby Missy

Each day you keep me very busy.  You are nursing 5-6 times a day, eating rice cereal or oatmeal 2 times a day (breakfast and dinner), and have a vegetable for lunch.  Food is hit or miss.  Usually the first day you try a new food you love it, the second day you hate it, and then you will slowly start enjoying it more after that.  You always enjoy rice cereal.  So far you have tried carrots, sweet potatoes, and green beans.  You have also gnawed on an apple slice (you liked it), mushed bananas in the net feed (you do not like it), and red bell pepper (you LOVED to gum on it).  But your absolute favorite thing in the world are Baby Mum-Mums.  You now know what the packaging looks like and will go nuts kicking your legs and and howling until you have one in your hand.  It's pretty funny!

You take 2-3 naps a day.  Usually one is a long one (an hour and a half or so) and the others are about 30 minutes.  Lately it has been hard to get you to fall asleep.  You will cry in your crib, which you have never really done.  You sleep on your stomach (bootie in the air) and curl up at one corner of your crib.

You will now get "bored" with toys or activities.  You will last for about 30 minutes or so and then start fussing to do something else.  One of your favorite toys right now is a kick mat that makes sounds and lights up when you hit it.

Watching the dogs and the vacuum cleaner are also lots of fun.

But hanging out with Mom and Dad is the most fun, right?  :)

We love you.

Love,
Mom
