Our Week in Oklahoma

On Wednesday we got home from a full week long trip back home.  It went by fast!  Probably because we were just so busy.  Time flies when you are having fun, right?

Friday night we got to watch Grant graduate.  I can't believe the youngest of us has finally graduated high school!!  He will be a Sooner next year... that makes his big sis proud :).

What I really can't believe is that it has been ELEVEN years since I graduated.  I still remember our graduation picnic, practicing for the ceremony, and celebrating that night.  Thanks, Grant, for reminding me how OLD I am.

Nama and Cousin Alicia came in town to see Grant.  Beckett finally got to meet his Great Grandma!  They played with blocks, puzzles, and his soccer ball.

LOVE this picture!

Beckett also spent time with his other Great Grandmother.  Nanny has the best jewelry for tugging and chewing!

I think we swam pretty much every single day - at least Beckett did.  He's such a water baby.  He kept wanting to drink the water.  At least he's not scared to submerge his face!

Aunt Steph taught the fine art of bubble blowing.

Cori and I took the babies to Andy Alligator's in Norman one day.  It's perfect for the little ones.  I wish I would have had a picture of them in their life jackets and inter tubes in the lazy river, but here are a few others.  The water fountains were a hit with B.

We also did some baby pool action and hot tubbing at Gary and Guyla's.

Naked swimming is the way to go!  Except that the little stinker kept wanting to climb out.

And here he is in the hot tub.  Do you see the picture of him giving Guy kisses?  He has been doing that tons lately.... especially with the dogs (AJ in particular)!  Sweet boy, but yuck.

If you haven't noticed Guyla has an incredible backyard.  There are tall trees for privacy, beautiful grass, and a huge flower bed.  To me this logically translates into a perfect place for family pics!  I am ALWAYS trying to get a decent picture of the three of us where we all look normal and are looking/smiling at the camera.  Thank you Guyla for getting one!

Guy and Beckett have the exact same smile. :)

I got a few individual ones throughout the week too...

And the last "tie" pic...

We also made a trip to the Oklahoma City Zoo.  I was excited to take Beckett, but honestly I didn't have too high of expectations for it after just having gone to the San Diego Zoo.  It's like how Disney World can ruin all other amusement parks.  But honestly the OKC Zoo was awesome!!  Granted it isn't nearly as large and they didn't have a lot of the major attractions that San Diego does (pandas, dolphins, air tran, etc.) but what they had was fantastic.  In fact the children's section was much larger at OKC.  Here is B petting the "dogs."

The best exhibit has to be the elephants.  There is a ton of land with lots of bridge walkways and scenery. How cute is this little guy?

B rode a carousel.  He liked it at first, but then wasn't so sure.  No tears, but definitely no smiles.

I'm glad we went.  It was hot and windy, but B didn't mind.

And happy grandparents and parents too:)

I did get out and about without Beckett a few times.  One night I went with Gary and Guyla to a bar in midtown called Bosa Nova.  It's in Midtown and I HIGHLY recommend it.  We listened to a band on the rooftop and drank yummy cuban cocktails.  It was a perfect evening outside!

Guy and I also went on a date night.  That was most definitely NOT a perfect outside evening.  Just as we were finishing our yummy sushi dinner an enormous storm blew in - complete with the most amount of hail I have ever seen.  In fact, there were two huge hail storms and neither were kind to Guy's car.  $6,000.00 in damage!  Ugh.  In a matter of 2 months we will have paid two $500 car deductibles and completely replaced two new tires.  Seriously??

I guess all you can do is have a drink!

Speaking of restaurants, we went with my parents to one of my favorite bars/restaurants... The Mont.  They have the best patio and best swirls.  I hadn't been in a couple of years, so that was a treat.

It was a great week.  A good mix of having fun and relaxing.  I'll finish up with a few more random pics...
