Dear Beckett: 24 Weeks

Dear Beckett,

Have I told you lately how cute I think you are?  Yes?  Well, I am not the only one.  We get stopped ALL the time when we are out and about.  Your admirers always say how precious your smile is, what beautiful eyes you have, and how you are the happiest baby.  True, true, and true!  In fact, I once had a grandma stop me to say that she has a dozen grandchildren, but you were the cutest baby she had ever seen.  She then took your picture to send to her daughter!  Funny! (ok, and strange...)

You are FINALLY back to your normal schedule and routine since getting home from Memphis.  In fact, you are now sleeping in your crib and not in your pack and play anymore.  You look so little in that big bed.  The only problem is that you now prefer to sleep on your stomach instead of your side.  It worries me, but you can roll to your back easily now.

You are all BOY too.  No matter how often I trim your nails, there always seems to be a new mark or scratch on your face.  When you are older and look back at your baby pictures, I'm sure you will wonder why you were always scratched up!

One of your favorite things to do right now is to blow bubbles, especially when you are playing in your activity center.  You love to mimic us when we do it too!  We love it when you "talk" to us.  You even pause so that we can take turns talking.

We tried out the Johnny Jumper again this week.  You liked it a lot more than last time we tried it.  You still don't understand that you are suppose to "jump," but you thought it was pretty funny when I helped you bounce.

Another fun game is to drop toys from your high chair and wait for me to pick them up for you.  It's amazing to see that you now understand that things don't just disappear, that they are just out of sight or in a different place.

This week we finally gave you your first FOOD!  You love Baby Mum Mums.  Although the pediatrician says to wait until you are 6 months old (which is just a couple of weeks away), you have been absolutely dying to eat.  You stare at our foods constantly.  It's so sad to watch you reach your hands  out and open your mouth for food but not let you have any.  So, we finally couldn't stand it any more and figured that the rice cracker wouldn't cause any constipation.  So far, so good!

Here are pictures from your very first Trick-or-Treating.  We went with the Stoners.  Teagan was an ice cream cone - isn't she so cute?  You and Hadley hung out in your strollers :).

We love you so much.

Love,
Mom
