Let's Get This Party Started

Happy THIRTY FOUR, Guy!  We had a birthday party in honor of the big day.

Yum, Yum, Yum.  "Nothing But Bundts" is delish.  The other day I accidentally called it "Nothing But Butts."  Hmmm, yes I believe this hunk of sugary deliciousness could cause that.

Guy is opening up his birthday present.  Beckett and I got him the Mario Andretti Racing Experience!!

Location: Texas Motor Speedway
Vehicle: A REAL Indy Race Car
Speed: 180mph
Passing Allowed?  You bet.
Time to up the Life Insurance Policy?  I believe so.

Such a cute family!  Little Lady Thomann will be here in 20 weeks!!

Nick is the human jungle gym.

Really not sure how the red onesie came out but Guy rocked it, much to everyone's horror.  I believe the words were "ahhh, don't let the children see."

Greatest. Picture. Ever.  Guy's face says it all.

Teagan, "What's that?" (Just nanoseconds before racking Guy.)  By the way, can you see Teag's pink party dress?  She was all fancy for the occasion.  Adorable!

Dear Beckett: 25 Weeks

Dear Beckett,

Only 1 1/2 weeks until your 1st Thanksgiving, buddy!  Can you tell that I'm MORE than a little excited to celebrate the holidays with you?  Even your dad agreed to let me decorate the house for Christmas before Thanksgiving.  Now that's a big deal!

In honor of the cooler temps and falling leaves, we broke out the knit hats.  Again.

This week was exciting because your two bottom teeth FINALLY broke through!  We knew that you had been teething for awhile, so it has been good to see that some progress was made.  Poor pumpkin, we can tell when your gums are hurting you :(.

Another new step for you has been getting to ride in the seat at the grocery store.  It was funny because when I first put you in it, you were so excited to look around.  Then when I started to roll the cart you couldn't figure out how to steady yourself for the first 5 minutes.  Then you finally got the hang of it and loved sitting up high and looking around.

You look so little in that big cart!

You still love sucking and chewing on your toes.  In fact, you can get frustrated in your car seat because you see them but can't reach them.  We distract you with other toys, but the minute you are out.....

it's toes, toes, toes!

Here's how you have been sleeping lately....

On your tummy, bootie in the air, knees underneath you, and Omar under your tummy.... adorable!

We love you so much.

Love,
Mom

Fall at the Park

We went to the park this evening and enjoyed the beautiful weather and pretty fall colors.  Beckett got woken up from a nap, so he was in a bit of a daze.  When we got there I realized that I had forgotten my memory card for my camera.

I (of course) made Guy run to the nearest Walgreens/CVS/Target/I-don't-care-where to buy a new one.

You can't blame me.  Just look at the gorgeous fall colors.  And B-man was doing so good with his sitting and standing.

I love fall!!  Can you believe it's almost Thanksgiving?

Dear Beckett: 24 Weeks

Dear Beckett,

Have I told you lately how cute I think you are?  Yes?  Well, I am not the only one.  We get stopped ALL the time when we are out and about.  Your admirers always say how precious your smile is, what beautiful eyes you have, and how you are the happiest baby.  True, true, and true!  In fact, I once had a grandma stop me to say that she has a dozen grandchildren, but you were the cutest baby she had ever seen.  She then took your picture to send to her daughter!  Funny! (ok, and strange...)

You are FINALLY back to your normal schedule and routine since getting home from Memphis.  In fact, you are now sleeping in your crib and not in your pack and play anymore.  You look so little in that big bed.  The only problem is that you now prefer to sleep on your stomach instead of your side.  It worries me, but you can roll to your back easily now.

You are all BOY too.  No matter how often I trim your nails, there always seems to be a new mark or scratch on your face.  When you are older and look back at your baby pictures, I'm sure you will wonder why you were always scratched up!

One of your favorite things to do right now is to blow bubbles, especially when you are playing in your activity center.  You love to mimic us when we do it too!  We love it when you "talk" to us.  You even pause so that we can take turns talking.

Blowing Bubbles at Mom

We tried out the Johnny Jumper again this week.  You liked it a lot more than last time we tried it.  You still don't understand that you are suppose to "jump," but you thought it was pretty funny when I helped you bounce.

Another fun game is to drop toys from your high chair and wait for me to pick them up for you.  It's amazing to see that you now understand that things don't just disappear, that they are just out of sight or in a different place.

This week we finally gave you your first FOOD!  You love Baby Mum Mums.  Although the pediatrician says to wait until you are 6 months old (which is just a couple of weeks away), you have been absolutely dying to eat.  You stare at our foods constantly.  It's so sad to watch you reach your hands  out and open your mouth for food but not let you have any.  So, we finally couldn't stand it any more and figured that the rice cracker wouldn't cause any constipation.  So far, so good!

Here are pictures from your very first Trick-or-Treating.  We went with the Stoners.  Teagan was an ice cream cone - isn't she so cute?  You and Hadley hung out in your strollers :).

We love you so much.

Love,
Mom
