Dear Beckett: 21 Weeks

Dear Beckett,

This week you have really improved your coordination!  You have perfect some of your "tricks" that you had been working on for several weeks.  For instance, you can roll over from your back to stomach with ease (you usually do not roll from your stomach to your back, but you can).  You can also spin yourself around to get to your toys.  AND you can put your pacifier in and out of your mouth all by yourself!  Such a smart boy!

We are still spending LOTS of time outside since the weather is so nice.  One morning it was pretty chilly, so we bundled you all up for our walk.  We go on morning walks frequently and family walks most evenings.  You LOVE LOVE LOVE to be outside and sit in the BOB stroller!

You even have your very own sunglasses for when we are outside!

We have dining al fresco a lot too.

One day we went over to the Stoner's and you played with the girls.  It's so fun to watch you and Hattie "play" together.  You are paying more attention to each other... Hads even thinks you make an excellent jungle gym!  Teagan always rubs your toes and head and says, "Baby Beckett sooooooo cuuuute!"

This week we went to the Pumpkin Patch twice.  There was so much to see that you would hardly look at the camera, let alone give us any smiles. But we still managed to get some good pics of you!

Unfortunately, one of my wishes came true.  You HAVE been more cuddly this week, but it's because you got your first cold.  You have had a runny nose (thankfully no fever or other symptoms) which has made you pretty miserable.  We feel so terrible for you!

We hope you get feeling better soon, buddy.  We love you so much!

Love,
Mom

Dear Beckett: 20 Weeks

Dear Beckett,

How are we already out of the teens and you are now TWENTY weeks old?  I will admit that I did shed a few tears yesterday because I got to hold you "like a baby," which is happening less and less during the daytime.  You like to be up looking around and investigating, not enjoying cuddles with Momma!  (See Exhibit A)

This week you got to try out several "new" things.  I put you in your high chair for the very first time.  Although you aren't using it when eating yet, it is pretty handy for when I am cooking in the kitchen.  You also like to be a "big boy" and sit up high like Mom and Dad at the dinner table.  It's pretty cute!

You also got a new activity bouncer.  It's a lot like your other one, but this one actually bounces which we thought you would like.  At first we thought you were really enjoying the toys.....

But you spend most of your time doing this...

Sucking (loudly) on the chair!

You are so funny to watch!  You are always drooling or sucking on your fingers.  These days you prefer your pointer finger.  Occasionally you will even share and put it in my mouth.....mmmm, tasty.

On Friday Thunder and Gigi came to visit.  You impressed them with all of your new skills and mannerisms.

On Sunday we had a few friends to dinner.  You got your first kiss!

And you thought Nick was pretty funny too!

We love you.

Love,

Mom

Dear Beckett: 19 Weeks

Dear Beckett,

You have been quite the trooper this week.  We have carted you around all over town, and you have been smiles the whole time.

On Monday we went to Dr. Harpavat for your four month check up and immunizations.  Here are your stats:

Weight: 15.4 lbs (55%) We were a little surprised because we thought you were heavier than this!
Height: 25 inches (50%)
Head: 41.8 centimeters (45%)

On Wednesday I took you ROLLER SKATING!  Yep, you hung out in the Bob stroller and got pushed while mom skated with the Stoner girls.  You looked around a lot at first, but quickly fell asleep (of course).  Even Dad had to stop by to see us in action.

We did A LOT of playing this week.  It's been so fun to watch you interact more with toys and books.  You love to touch anything in front of you and want to immediately put it in your mouth.  You especially love the soft cloth style books right now.

You are very intrigued by the dogs.  Since you were born they have been very protective of you, usually staying out of the way to stand guard but occasionally you both get curious :).

This week you have found your VOICE!  It's so funny to hear you "talk" to us.  Of course you have been cooing and making play noises for awhile now, but this is different.   It's more of a yell, but we just love to hear it.   Here is a video that I just adore.  You are having a talk with me and even waited your turn to speak.  Ha!

In addition to all of this, you also went out to sushi dinner, Sunday brunch, two play dates, Halloween pictures, one or two walks a day, and a whole bunch of errands with Mom.

So with all of this running around, it's no wonder this is what your Saturday looked like:

7:30 am Woke Up (smiling, of course)
Diaper change, Breakfast, Played With Dad
8:30-11:45 Nap
Diaper Change, Lunch, Played With Mom, More lunch
1:30-5:00 Nap with Dad
5:00 Dinner and Bath
6:00 Snack
7:00 Bed (on the floor)

Basically you took some serious naps, and weren't even interested in waking up to eat.  This is NOT your normal schedule.  You are a good napper, but usually have one long nap and two short naps a day.  Just recently you have gone down to eating six times a day.  You always eat at 7:30 am, 5:30 pm, and 7:30 pm, but your afternoon feedings just depend on how long you nap.

We love you.

Love,
Mom
